Located on the northeast side of West Sound, in the
lee
of Picnic Island. Enter from the west.
Look for the high bay building,
gray
with green trim, and the landmark weather vane and windsock. Guest
moorage
is found at a 250' float on the south side of the marina, closest to
Picnic
Island. You may tie on both sides of the float. Thirty amp power,
drinking
water, and showers are available to moorage patrons. Call on VHF 16.
Check
in at the marina office on arrival. The fuel dock is adjacent to the
guest
moorage and dispenses gas and diesel. Waste pump-out is also available
at
the fuel dock. Expanded in 1999, West Sound Marina is the largest
moorage
facility on Orcas Island with 180 permanent moorage slips. Some summer
sublets are available. West Sound Marina is also the largest repair
facility
in the San Juans. In addition to the 30 ton hoist, which can handle boats
to
18' beam, the yard is an authorized repair facility for MerCruiser,
Volvo,
Yanmar, Ford, Force, and Johnson/Evinrude engines and products. Boats to
60'
in length can be repaired under cover in the high bay building on the
wharf.
The marina store has an extensive inventory as well as a complete stock
of
engine parts. Ice, propane, charts, and snacks are sold. The Orcas
Island
Yacht Club and West Sound Cafe are only a short walk. Kenmore Air
provides
scheduled service. Open all year. Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m.- 4:45
