Point Baker, Alaska

This secluded harbor at the north end of Prince of Wales Island is a must stop. Halibut, salmon, whale, eagle, and sea otter perform daily for the sportsperson and photographer. A small convenience store, liquor store, the last floating saloon in southeast Alaska and the best little restaurant in town, serving the famous Better Baker Burger and Herbıs homemade pies are located at the Point Baker Trading Post. Also available for the traveler just over the bullrail are the laundry and shower facilities. While there is no moorage fee, one can buy daily dock power from the store. Visitors arrive by floatplane from Ketchikan, Wrangell and Petersburg, with mail service arriving from Ketchikan. The Trading Post houses the Outpost B&B which is located upland from the dock. Invite your friends to rendezvous at Point Baker, perhaps utilize the BBQ and gazebo summer kitchen. The business, established 1936, operates year around featuring recreation opportunities mid May thru mid September. Management looks forward to reminiscing with returning yachts and making new friends.
