Oak Harbor Marina

The award-winning city marina has been the pride of Oak Harbor residents for many years. First completed in 1974, expansion and modernization have developed it into a 420 boat facility with moorage for boats up to 50' in length. Plans are underway to add 75 slips for 40, 50, and 60 foot boats during the 2008-2009 constructions season. The breakwater dock, (F-Dock), runs north to south. It is 900' in length and offers 52 open slips for guest moorage. The main entrance is from the south. To avoid running aground, if using the north entrance, approach from the south end of breakwater dock, turning parallel to the outside (west side) of this dock. Head north, keeping the piling to port. Enter the marked and dredged channel around the north end. Departure is the reverse of this procedure. Additional side ties are found along walkways. Moorage pay stations are located on the breakwater dock at F-27 and F-52, or check-in at the Harbor Masteršs Office in the two-story gray building adjacent to the flagstaff. Twenty and 30 ampere power, drinking water, hose-down water, gas, diesel, propane, lubricants, a dump station, and waste pump-out available. Showers and laundramat available. For trailer boats, the large launch ramp is well known as one of the finest in the northwest. Adjacent to the marina is a marine chandlery, engine repair facility, and a privately owned and operated boat storage yard which also offers trailer haul-outs for boat to approx. 40'. An overhead crane provide haul-outs for boats to 6,500 pounds. Having become the center for popular community events, the marina sponsors the Old-fashioned Fourth of July extravaganza and the Race Week in mid-July. Taxi and bus service connects with the downtown core, approximately 1-mile away. Restaurants, banks, groceries, liquor store, and all city amenities are found downtown. Rental cars are available, or take Island Transit, which offers complimentary bus service to parks and communities all around Whidbey Island. Bus schedules are available at the Harbor Masteršs Office. This facility, designed to please the vacationing family, has picnic tables, barbecues, horseshoes, volley ball, playground equipment, and even a fishing pier. Open all year. Hours: 8:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. Memorial Day-Labor Day, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. the remainder of the year. Closed Sundays November-February.
