Howling Wolf Farm Market...A Labour of Love

We started our family and our farm 15 years ago on Thetis Island. Marylyn, having left the catering business in Singapore was soon anxious to cater to the boaters at the marinas on Telegraph Harbour. As we made friends it became clear that as well as Marylyn's good food, boaters were in need of fresh, local provisions. We put up a little shelf by our gate (some may remember) and offered jam, jelly, chutney and a few baked goods.

Then the readers of Victoria's Times-Colonist voted Marylyn's pies Best on Vancouver Island (a lot of boaters from all over voted too) causing the newspaper to state,"they were the best pies without a doubt on Vancouver Island and BEYOND". We took the plunge and built a proper market at the head of Telegraph Harbour with freezers and a fridge. Others have imitated Marylyn's pies since but not duplicated them. It's what's inside that counts and sons Davis and Benji pick our own berries while Marylyn bakes. They are made with love! Today, we offer a variety of provisions boaters have requested: our own grass-fed lamb, pasture-raised chicken, fresh seafood (oysters, shrimp, salmon), local tomatoes and cucumbers, our own eggs and artisan bread, real ice cream, Marylyn's spring rolls and curry puffs, and yes her PIES.

We owe a big thanks to boaters and to Northwest Boat Travel for helping to make Howling Wolf Farm Market possible! We are going to stay open year round so call ahead if you have a need and we'll be ready for you. We look to meeting our old friends and making new ones at the Howling Wolf Farm Market...Marylyn, Davis, Benji and Chris.
