Shelter Island Marina

Located in Richmond, the largest boatyard in B.C., 14 miles upriver from Sand Heads, this well known facility offers expanded permanent and limited guest moorage, an extensive list of repair services, restaurant and banquet rooms, a pub, and a liquor store. When approaching, do not go between Don and Lion Island. Since its establishment in 1978, Shelter Island has continuously modernized its facilities and services to include attractions of interest to the pleasure boater. Telephone, water, cablevision, and metered 20, 30 and 50 ampere power are available. Transportation by bus and/or taxi opens the door to Richmond, Lulu Island, the Vancouver International Airport, and downtown Vancouver. The marine supply store is fully stocked with parts, electronic items, rope, paint, chain, anchors, charts, and other marine gear. The 30,000 square foot Marine Services Building houses businesses specializing in such services as welding, fiberglassing, and painting. Do-it-Yourself Yard. Two of the largest Travelifts on the coast (70 and 150 ton) lift vessels from 20' to 130', including over 20 acres of boatyard space to accommodate 400 vessels. Short and long term available.
